The car in front of me on the grid teleported to the pits about a second before the lights went out, but I reacted to that and got a drive through...

Spun out on the evil bump that doesn't allow you to run over it, dropped back, took the drive through then avoided hitting GT cars as they flitted about the screen once I tried to get back through. Spun out a bunch of times avoiding GTs that were bouncing about due to the lag issues and then had to give up because I was just ruining everyone else's race while mine was completely ruined.

2.5 laps of complete disaster

I would apologize to the person I hit, but in the end there were so many, I lost count.
I think I enjoyed it, but without ABS I am lost. I need to learn how to drive these cars with limitless , virtual braking power, then at low speed, same a s a 1950’s car.
I had the brake power at 80% , but it made little difference. I was locking up everywhere, but the main problem was when close and an the unexpected happened , it was a lock and a slide into someone, there were a lot of somebody’s.:(

What an exciting race. In the first half there wasn't much going on for me, apart from always being afraid when there was an LMP car in the rear-view mirror. I'm glad that I got out of the messy start well.

In the second half it got really good. I saw that Robert would eventually catch up with me. Then he overtook me, as I expected. I thought to myself, ok, just keep going, fifth place is good too. A moment later he made a small mistake and I was just able to squeeze past him to the next corner. From then on it was an uphill battle. I don't know how long maybe 30 minutes. Really exhausting. And I somehow managed to stay ahead of him. I hope my driving style was fair Robert. If not, just say so.

Awesome event!

Brake issues could have been worse ernie!

Poor start with a great finish. Left my brake bias too far forwards at the start and my tires felt like ice. Seemed like everyone and their mother was passing me  Finally settled down and gained some spots back over the stint. Pitted, then had an absolutely great battle with Hank for the last 30min or so, only about .5s between us lap after lap  I might have passed on taking some open doors caused by blue flags, but it was so fun I didn't want to get the position on a "technicality" :)

Great driving by the LMPs too, at least on my end. Was able to keep my own fights going without too much fuss.

Thanks for hosting and sorting the bugs for us Brian. A really fun championship so far. Looking forward to the next race

I made a good start and avoided all of the early incidents and gained several places.

A few laps in I was chasing Henke with an ok gap to the guys behind when I threw it all away with a T1 spin that put me way back in the pack. I really have to cut these out as I am getting fed up of recovery drives.

Had a good few laps chasing Dave and eventually making my way past. Pitted late then tried to catch Jason. Got onto the back of him on the last lap with pace but a tyre on the gravel on sector 2 gave him a second that I couldn't catch up at the line.

Apologies Aki for getting in the way of your battle with Fulvio at the end.

Thanks for organising Brian and well done everyone for driving this challenging track.

That was great fun and really nice to be back behind the wheel !

Had only little time to practice, so having old Q/R setups ready saved my ass completely, so I just had to try and remember how to drive and use boost in the right places again.

Sorry for any trouble I caused to GT cars, I was trying to take it easy, but always some small miscalculations happen and there were a bunch of them.

Spa is gonna be interesting since Audi will be a lot stronger there due that higher top speed without any boost. Looking forward to that !

Thanks Brian and everyone for the great event !

Enjoyed that alot despite travels 'alone' for 90 minutes.
I was just trying to get settled in, after surviving the start, thinking about how to start getting into a bit of a flow. About 10-15 minutes in, over the crest of the hill suddenly faced with a tightly packed group of GT cars!

The first wave is the most difficult. Seems to get easier as the race goes on and cars spread out. Got caught in one or two pickles but nothing major.

Thanks to all for racing and congrats to Fulvio and Joel for the wins. A memorable experience it was!

See you for the next one.

After some of last races losing force feedback with my T150 from qualy to race I finally managed to setup my recently bought T300. Works perfectly had a good race with the radical recently, so was looking forward for this race on one of my favorite tracks. But unfortunately again problems from qualy to race this time not being able to join. As others were having problems entering server I thought it's a server thing. Always got the same error message:
Screenshot (511).png

Tried different csp versions, but always same error. Rebooted. again error. Then I disabled CSP completely and I could join unfortunately several laps behind. Was a shame as I practiced a lot and think my pace wasn't that bad, could do a 1.29.6 in qualy.
Had some good maneuvers and "unlappings". Sorry to Nico for the collision in turn 1 but I had to avoid a big crash in front of me and had to go the the very right just before the braking zone so I was too fast in T1 and could not avoid the contact. Had some good laps following Enzo and in the end went short of 1l fuel as I adjusted setup during race because of my late joining. So hopefully I can at least make it to the first lap with all working next time.;)
Congrats to podiums and thx Brian,
cu

edit: at least no one landed in the grandstands in T1 like this weekend in the Porsche cup at Portimao (guess brake failure, normally I don't post lurid videos but going through the fence of an F1 track like this is pretty odd, glad no one was hurt and there were no spectators on those seats):

Drive 90min, finish less than a car length apart  All moves from you Hank were clean on my end. If only Joel had waited to pass, who knows what the "next" lap would have had in store :D

Now to wait for the real 6hr highlights. Seems like WEC finally got their stuff together this year and posted a 20min highlight replay after Sebring. I really enjoy us following along with their championship :)

Hi Thomas. That's a strange one. There is nothing in the server logs about it. It shows you joining as normal from what i can see. All checksums etc. are passing.

To troubleshoot it further you could trying disabling all the individual parts of CSP including the PP/Sol settings in Assetto corsa/video.

I see Hank had a similar issue with CSP. He has deleted the message above. Does it work ok in single player with the same cars in race session?

Can highly recommend these Ernie, you can set to rumble when brakes lock, or just before (and anything in between!) https://www.sim-3d.co.uk/product/pedal-rumble-motor-kit/6 -f you buy 2 (another for the accelerator) it'll mimic wheelspin/loss of traction:thumbsup: Thorough review and setup guide here: https://simracingcockpit.com/rumble-kit/

There did seem to be a lot of warping issues at the start. Not sure if it was the volume of people on track together or something else. Looking at the ping range from the event mine went very high at one point suggesting at least part of it might have been me.

I was reminded several times during the race of @Kek700's observation that in this multiclass the slower cars are very twitchy at their limit whereas the faster class LMP1s are much more stable, which can make for some surprising momnts. Several times LMP1s went for what must have looked like reasonable passes but my 'vette was either under- or oversteering in their general direction. Everybody was very understanding about it

We had a particular confusing moment when an LMP1 was passing @Aksu, who was passing me, who was passing Ken. We all thought we had blue flags on our side and chaos ensued.

My challenge for the next race at spa is to work on a more stable and predictable setup.

A big thank you to @Interslice for organising and persisting with the server challenges at the start to make it happen for everyone.
