I've seen my first SimuCube pedals in the wild and was even shown them set up inverted.

Can I see a way to mount this to my rig? Yes, actually now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it.

Do I see anyway of making this work in my media room? Not in any way that my wife would be happy with.

My other major issue is that my pedal deck is already as heavy as it can be if I want to be able to lift it off my rig without getting a hernia.

So I see both medical reasons and relationship issues that will keep this upgrade from happening.

After 4 years of solid use, my left controller trigger was sticking vary badly, so I treated myself to some new controllers.

My Fitbit recognized driving my simrig as riding an Outdoor bike :)

I bet that's because of my motion rig making it think I was hitting bumps and of course that I was gripping a wheel similar to gribbing handlebars.

I had a 123 bpm max so I had some active zone fat burn minutes.

BTW it "appears" that I could actually hang an SC brake pedal from a plate that would fit on my rig properly. The 18lb weight of the pedal pales to the forces I'm using for brake pressure.

So I could have a 1/4" 6.35mm thick 7575 Aluminum plate laser cut for $92 or SS for $121.

Not saying I have any need to do this, but just that I "could" get it on my rig.

Now about the hernia issue lifting this off my rig. Looks like I would need something that bolted to either side with retractable casters that I could secure to the sides of the pedal deck and lift it off the rig and roll it away, or roll the rig out from under it.

Still haven't got the size issue resolved and the lifting apparatus would mean more clutter in the media room. So still haven't got this worked out to the point where it would be "acceptable" yet.

At least in theory, ideal integration of tactile with motion
might have a relatively light frame rigidly connecting pedals to seat,
with that frame isolated/suspended from main motion-driven chassis.

There are a lot of compromises.

Pedal isolation works for tactile, but dampens out chassis effects.
Additional weight on the sprung section would further dampen out chassis effects

Of course chassis effects especially haptics reek havoc with the Tracker so it likes dampened effects. Of course I'm not really using the Tracker yet.

As it is I've been thinking about going back to the red springs on my pedal deck. My current blue medium springs dampen the haptic effects too much.

I'm less and less interested in tearing everything up again.

I'm now using the latest Daniel Morad iRacing profile for GT3 and I think they are a bit better than what I was using.

He walks through these settings in the following video which means people using older SimuCube software can use these instructions.

Been thinking about a couple small changes to my button box.

When I designed it, I thought incorrectly that I would use the large rotaries at some point, but the reality is that my Precision Sim Engineering GT3 wheel has much nicer feeling rotaries and I'll never use the large plastic wheels. I was told as much by a few people and they were right. I think I almost just like how they looked more than anything else.

I can easily get three inputs back for each rotary ( 2 x for the wheel + 1 for the button press)

Fortunately I did think ahead when I designed this modular enclosure with easily replacable panels. I can simply redesign a flat right front plate with a few changes and screw it in place of the existing plate. The same goes for the top rotaries. I have a few interesting ideas that I think would make these even easier to feel for controls.

Have you mapped so many functions that your buttons on the wheel and button box are not enough?
It's more that I really like the top mounted large mushroom button and would like to add a couple more of them. I just see the rotaries taking prime real estate where I could have some very easy to find/smack buttons :)

This is what I was thinking, but I have clearance issues, so I need to think about this a bit more.

This has been on the back burner for a while as one of those things I would eventually get around to when I have nothing left to do. I've had a piece of 120x40 bolted with 4 bolts to a piece of 40x40 to support my pedals. Now it is just a single piece of 160x40.

Finally got around to trying some of the lighter weight Misumi Profile. It didn't take long to get here and compared to my old solution is 2.5 lbs lighter :)

To be clear this does not foreshadow a future purchase. I've completely talked myself down and really don't want to muck around with my pedals.

I should add a picture of the side view of the profiles. Typical end caps will not fit this Misumi profile.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Yesterday while my wife and I were visiting friends, I had a 4th print in progress. Unfortunately I found some side to side motion, a bit of rotation and just a bit of fore/aft twist that I couldn't feel in game, but I could see visually and it bothered me.

I consider this just a small iteration rather than something new. That's how I'm justifying it.

I incorporated my earlier profile slot capture design, but shortened it to the height of the slot, so I'm still happy with the appearance. This design prevents both side to side motion and rotation. I also widened the entire part and included a third bolt on the bottom while increasing the infill to 30% The additional width and stockiness removed that last bit of twist at least visually I can no longer see any.

A new end cap was required to allow for the slot capture.

With the bottom rib raising the two hole nut the knobs don't need to be turned nearly as much.

The end result is working well in game and has no visible motion. It's also faster and easier to put into place now that there is a guide.

Thanks for sharing this. It is terrific and I can't imagine not using a quick release now. I'm thinking I am going to try and modify it for another CM3 base at a bit of an angle. Did you happen to share the top part that goes on the 40x40 or is that a part that you purchased from somewhere? I've been looking through your thread and have not found that piece yet. Any chance you would be willing to expand on this build a little more. I ready your decscription on Printables and on here and think I understand it, but I'm not sure where everything came from and I guess need a little extra hand holding if you're willing.

Thanks, that is indeed what I was looking for. I should have known to go check Thingiverse, I just have your builds followed on Printables and normally get your designs/prints from there.
