That was exhausting. My first "real" race in rf2 and my first race that lasted longer than an hour. I'm glad I made it to the finish. I guess I made some rookie mistakes. During the first stint my right front tire went down to 40%. all other tires were still at 70 or so. No idea why. Because it was day and the temperature was higher? That didn't happen in the second stint. I was both times on medium tires. Was that a good decision? Next mistake was that I used petrol "qualification" in the race. Does that have a major negative impact? Last mistake I can remember was carrying gas for 38 laps without considering that the LMPs drove them much faster than I did in the GTE.

But overall a great experience!

After the race, the stats were gone pretty quickly. Is it always like this? Or can you still see it somewhere?

I wanted to give rF2 another chance and rF2 has now convinced me. Incredible FFB, great driving experience. I'll be there more often now. At least at the WEC races.

Side question: are the standard setups recommended?
I think I played around a bit too much with it.

Conclusion: great event!

Sorry guys, apparently there is a problem with my ISP that was causing ping spikes, sorry I bugged the race.

Hope you had a good one

Sad that you had to leave, also sad that it caused issues for others. I hoped it was a temporary thing when it was first mentioned on Discord during the formation lap, but it wasn't :(

f.ck internet connection and rf2

Same for you Oliver :( Was really looking forward to this evening with a big grid!

Also for @pepucho - I really hope you give us another chance. It's not often we have problems like today. I hope you can remember the Buenos Aires race, and join in for more racing. Sorry that it dragged out to the point where you had to leave :(

Most of us use quali-mode for the engine. It uses more fuel, but the tradeoff from fuel usage to time loss makes the qual-mode the best in the most situations. In normal length races(50 min), the GTE's (with the exception of the Ferrari on certain tracks) can do the race in qual mode without pitting.
We also went down to 35 laps after restart number ... idk, the last one. That probably messed it up a tiny bit as well.

Regarding the tyres. The rF2 updated tyre model for the Oreca, GTE, GT3 and StockCar/StockCar x are very sensitive to lockups. I will upload the results, with stats, where you can check all kind of stuff. This is your tyre usage:

As you can see, on lap 4,7 and 8 you lost between 7 and 8% of the front right tyre life. I guess this is locking up under braking, e.g in the double right hander at the end of sector 2.

If you enjoyed the GTE's, you will probably enjoy GT3 as well as they have been updated with tyres and have gotten really nice to drive, while adding the element of taking care of tyres.

I usually only use default setups with gearing/rear wing/brake balance/pressure/steering lock changes to make it suit me :)

Thanks for the racing!

After the first couple of laps I ended up researching if I would gain laptime while feeling the need to visit the restroom, which reminded me of the same sort of research Clarkson, Hammond & May did after drinking a lot of water.

After conducting my totally planned research, the results showed me that I infact don't gain laptime while needing to visit the restroom.

Just incase it happens again, let's move Lmp2 ahead of the GTE pack after quali as starting in the mid of the GTE field seems to cause issues

Thanks for hosting! Good fun while it lasted for me, had issues throughout with button mapping my menus kept jumping/and automatically adjusting brake bias at random points so It was a distraction to say the least (plus Im not very good lol) so after about ten laps I called it quits.
First time actually giving rfactor2 a proper go and really enjoyed how it felt. Hopefully can iron out issues and race again soon.
Thanks

30 drivers, but there's still some regulars and/or semi-regulars that hasn't signed up!
Drivers like @dbx71 @Monkey T @Paul_V @Stammeleer @Hartmut2 @wayphaxx @Ruben Cerlem @Maciej Strzeboński @Cosimo @David Steinacher @Xalfy @Rich Green @Kryztov

Too bad that @rockracer is still on holiday. Or, it's not bad to have a holiday! That's awesome, just too bad he can't participate! :p

Also @Daniel R. and @max1966i this ia solid grid for some LMP2 learning ;) Still spots available!

I am not saying that we in could max out the server capacity with 45 entries. But if every semi-regular driver would be able to participate the same day, we would :p
Very pleasant to enjoy the sun at +27°c on the old bones :)
Nice starting field yesterday , next week I will be back helping increase the starting grid

Congrats Miquel and Francisco, you were in a class of your own yesterday and I had no answer for you. Even counting out the 20 secs I lost from two errors wouldnt have made a difference. My driving wasnt on point, neither was the setup (chewed up the fronts), nor my PC (stuttering every 1 sec, cause unknown) but the true cause was simply a lack of pace. I've never liked sebring, it dosent suit my driving style (especially in protos) but it has history and uniqueness and I enjoy watching it on TV :)
Thanks as always Ole for organizing and the huge grid was great!

Hi guys,

Fun race yesterday and thank you Ole for putting so much effort in to get us going.

I'm usually off the pace on Sebring and this race was not different. I just tried to build a stable setup because the race was going to be long.
Start went well when we actually managed to start and tried to settle in until:
1 spun on the bump in the final corner
2 spun on the bump in the final corner
3 spun on the bump in the final corner
4 spun on the bump in the final corner
After 4 spins on the bump in the final corner (did I mentioned I spun 4 times in the final corner? There is a bump there apparently) I lost confidence in that spot and lost about 4/5 tenths every lap there.

Apart from one slight miscommunication with two GTE all went well and I happily finished the race on a single set of mediums. Also had a couple of nice fights with @ThreeLionz and @Stefan Hiller. Thanks guys.

The evening didn't start of very well for me. Struggeled to get a lap in in practice which continued in quali which was the worst I had in ages. First lap was a safety lap but I still messed up Gendebien / Le Mans section. After that I was half a second faster just in the first sector but messed up every lap. I was so annoyed about myself that I nearly quit.
Race went much better after all the chaos. Got lucky being on the outside for T1 and T2 where some LMP chaos unfolded again and managed to sneak past Dastan. He seemed to have more top speed so I had to defend a few corners before I could pull up a gap which I could manage until the end. The rest of the race was pretty uneventful except one or two close encounters while being lapped. Mediums did better than expected so I could wait until the guys behind pitted. Decided to stay on mediums and put too much fuel in as I forgot that GTEs would do less laps than 35 but it didn't really matter.
