Take a break Ole, your life is more important than a weekly race here. Doing things on autopilot is not the way they should be done.;)

Thanks :)
At the same time, not doing things that passes time, and spending time on thinking the worst case in everything doesn't help either!
I have no idea what the future brings, but I do feel a responsibility for the rF2 Fridays, we've gotten a good group of people together, both good as in fair and nice racing, but also on Discord with jokes, banter, and tips :)

Well, I know where you're coming from. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, it fecking sucks. Only time will heal.

It does. It's an as mutual decision as it can be though. It wasn't my decision, but I can't say I haven't had the thought myself.
It's just that I am amazingly talented in seeing the worst possible scenario ever, in everything. I have already taken the step to get, and have gotten professional help - so it's just about re-arranging the blocks in the skull and making the logical part handle it, and not the irrational thoughts.

Again though, for what it is (a break-up after over half a life), I have a feeling the way it is now, it is one of the more friendly, respectful ones.

This could have been a fun evening. The car did not feel that bad to drive, though it got a bit twitchy with the full tank of fuel at the start of the race. And for some reason it felt like it lost all downforce and traction when I was cornering close to other cars, I went well wide at Radillon several times because of this, aswell as a spin in Bruxelles a couple of laps into the race.

From there I started reeling in the guys ahead, and after getting past Barnabas and Tim I was also closing in fast on Joe and David who were fighting. I got close up behind them, and again I was to close, so I spun out and hit the wall hard at Les Combes. This hit gave me a lot of damage and bent the steering, so I had to pit for repairs. I opted for soft tyres to try to push a litle bit, and started reeling in the cars ahead once more. When I was being let by Dominic on the little kink after Radillon the car twitched again, sent me out onto the grass to the left, and back across the road to take out Dominic big time :(

That was the point when I retired, in hindsight I should have retired after that hit to the wall about halfway through the race. This is getting really frustrating, as the grids are big and there is always someone to fight with, but all I ever do is putting the car off the road at the critical points... And I am fed up with doing just that in every single possible race lately
Sorry to see your race cut short Roy. You were on a tear there after your pit stop--I saw you gaining on me fast and you seemed to be on your way to catching the rest of the pack. Just tough luck that you pulled out to pass me exactly at that kink in the straight and the car didn't want to behave...
I suppose those things have happened to us all at some point. Some days you are the windshield, other days you're the bug...

I was just pleased that aside from that incident, I was able to complete the race without going off track or into a wall. I may not be setting any lap records out there, but at least the consistency is falling into place.

thanks again guys for another fun race!

Hang in there Ole, no need for any explanations or apologies. We thank you for organizing these events, but definitely take some time off if you need to. Keeping oneself occupied doing things we enjoy is a good way to get through hard times though... You might also consider eating a tub of ice cream (Ben and Jerry's over here, maybe Haagen dazs for you guys ) and re-watching Breaking Bad... Not actually sure if this would help, but seems like it could.... ;)

Thanks for your effort Ole, I’m pretty sure that getting the event ready was not easy when the head is thinking in other things but sometimes games help, and simracing will help you. Some sweating and some laughs always make things look better. Great fastest lap by the way. I could see the fast boys in the distance, trying to follow them, and it’s been a surprise how Mclaren’s default setup worked. Shame the rain time was not as long as expected, but it was very fun -and beautiful- to see some drops falling down in the last lap.
Ole, I think champ points have an error as long as Miquel only obtained points from 2/4 races, he drove all tho.
Have a good week and it would be very understandable if you need to take a break but I appreciate the effort giving us a Friday night drive!

NEXT WEEKS EVENT:

I am open for suggestions. We should keep it in tradition the way we do it in regards to multiclass (preferrably S397 Endurance) and single class (preferrably S397 GT3) every other week so it is S397 Endurance that's supposed to be a thing next week.

However - to make an extremely long story short. I have just turned 32 (this week), and last weekend, my one, single relationship that I've had in my life, for 16 years, so over half my life, ended. Not going to bother you guys with much details. We've been friends for 26 years, so our friendship is likely to survive. It's a friendly split. But obviously overload of all kind of emotions. Not the greatest economical times for such things either.
Point being. I am functioning on auto-pilot at the moment. I have no idea for next week for rF2 Friday. This is a day-by-day thing for me now in terms of trying to eat enough to last at work, and then low quality sleep.
Sorry for this, it caused the wrong track temp file thing for the Spa event, I will do my best to avoid that in the future!

EDIT: This is not meant as a "so sad" post either tbh. It's just an explanation for my lack of activity this week compared to the last weeks, and also an explanation for my lower activity for an unspecified amount of time in the future. I will host rF2 Fridays though :)
Sad to hear mate! Hang in there, I'm sure better times will come! Thanks for your effort to always put up an event no matter what you legend ;)
My suggestion would be Endurance @ Bahrain, we haven't been there for a while and I don't think we have raced the official S397 version yet that comes with the endurance layout.

I am a few years older than you, and what I can tell you is that first things first, solve your problems and if necessary, take a week 13 and rest, we can stop running on a Friday, I don't think anything will happen to us.

All the best.

First, what a poor race from my side. :( I feel like I'm chewing up those tyres with the new model, overheating everywhere. Had fun trying to keep Steve and Joe behind in the beginning but couldn't hold on to it. I have the feeling that I'm trying to race those GT cars like formula cars with a lot of corner speed but then I get overtaken fairly easy on exits.

Would anyone of the front runners be open to providing some telemetry data if available (I'm using motec)? (Or is there a way to get this data from the server?). I just have no idea how to improve my race pace. I'm somewhat satisfied with my one lap pace compared to the rest, but I just can't keep that pace once running with full tank and harder tyres.

Second, @Ole Marius Myrvold take your time and let it heal. If you need any help administrating the server or anything like testing, I'm open to help out :)

I don’t have Spa but can ssnd some Motec data from one of the last races, mostly a single decent lap if you’re interested

Congrats Jan. I did some small changes expecting some rain and I lost some tenths with that I guess, plus I was sleeping in the start . And soft tyres was a bad option, race ended with less than 10% in front tyre. Too much track temperature when is completely cloudy, I don't understand how rF2 calculate that
Yeah the track temps, '0% rain' forecast right before the race and the wear rate on the soft meant I decided to run the hards as the grip isnt that much lower but the wear is much better. My car was also perfectly balanced after some small setup tweaks from the default. All tires were within 2% of eachother after the line which tells me that the setup is 99,9% ideal.
And yeah, you were sleeping at the start :p I've lost count how many times I've gained the lead from 2nd or 3rd on the grid by just being more awake :)
