Scott, thanks for investigating and that info may come in handy if my bodge doesn't work, I have taken the hall sensor from the clutch and attached to the throttle, it seems to be working but I'll have to do some testing over a longer period as it seems to fail after a random period of time. I don't use the clutch so no big deal if that doesn't work. Fingers crossed.

I had a quick blast in the Academy 270R around the track from last night and was about 4 seconds slower.

There is not actually much in it between that and the Supersport with regards to power to weight and I am pretty sure almost all of the difference is purely down to having road tyres on the Academy 270R as I simply could not take the corners at the same speed. It also makes the car understeer quite noticeably compared to the Supersport, which actually balances the whole thing a lot better as you don't tend to just lose the rear because the front also loses grip, making it more forgiving in general.

The thing is though, after 3 or 4 laps at race pace, the tyres start to overheat and it becomes even more tricky to drive than the Supersport.

I had a quick go at tweaking the ARB in the Supersport and simply setting the rear to 0Nm with a click or two stiffer on the front seems to help make it a bit more forgiving, so I think we are going to stick with the Supersport and advise people to tweak the ARB a little if it's a proving a bit too tricky.

Wow, that is actually a brilliant tip. I did some test laps on Brands Hatch GP yesterday, and with the rear ARB on default 4Nm I got to 1:47.9 (though with a potential lap time of 1:46.something which I couldn't reach due to slipping and sliding everywhere). After I lowered it to 0Nm, I almost immediately did a 1:45.4.

Most impressive single-click set-up change I've ever experienced

I'll do some more tests today with the front ARB as well. Feels like cheating to tune out the characteristics that the car is famous for, but if it makes me go 2,5 seconds quicker, I'll take it :D
