Cannot say I agree, purely from a logical point of view.
Having spent many a miserable day racing in the rain, the last thing I or anyone else there wanted was a day racing in the rain.
We had no choice, sim racing has a choice..

Donington felt like an ok race but after reviewing the replay I see a massive error from me. Very very sorry for the contact @sebastalona ! From my view I got squeezed out to grass and then it looked like you spun on your own but I can see now that it was I who caused it. :poop:

So sorry man! :notworthy:

No problem mate, mistakes happen. Was working my way back slowly and my wheel disconnected, so that was that!

My Race Report

I was looking forward to this one as I enjoy the challenges that come with a track that doesnt see much use online and wet weather.

My practice session went well, getting down in the to the 36s, ending the session with a 1:36.575 with a decent amount of fuel onboard.

I qualified in second with a 1:35.692, my fastest lap in the wet, pleased and suprised!

The race start saw Kaiser get past me on the inside at Turn 1, I was pushing hard for a couple laps, battling Hunt who then got past me on lap 3.

Turn 1 on Lap 7 saw me retake 2nd place as both Kaiser and Hunt has seperate incidents. A few more laps of battling closely with Kaiser including a bit of contact on lap 12, a gentle paint rub on the way into a the chicane as we both braked as late as possible.

Lap 13, Kaiser tapped by rear right as I turned into the second last corner, spinning me out, a light tap just at the wrong time. He waited so no harm, just good racing in tough conditions.

I dropped back to 3rd as Dahlgren took the advantage of our incident to get past us both.

I set off in pursuit with Kaiser close behind. We closed the gap before Kaiser got past me on Lap 21.

Lap 23, I caught the curb wrong at the chicane, span and hit Schroder whilst trying to collect it. No damage luckily but that dropped us both back to Nascentes. I spent a couple laps following them, getting back into the rythem before having a little tap on Nascentes at the hairpin.

They had both run wide and as I took the gap on the apex he cut back, closing it, I just think it was hard racing and he forgot I was close behind. Still no damage just a little more time lost as he got straightened out and we continued.

This time Johal got involved, having a battle with Nascentes and giving me a chance to get back past on lap 27.

From there it was a cruise to the end, a tough but enjoyable race and a 6th place after it all. So many people had a strong race pace in this one with the top 7 able to set 1:36s or faster!

Brilliant race guys in some really tricky conditions which made it great fun. I was a bit jealous looking at the track map and seeing a bunch of you having a good scrap.
Last race of the series next week at Spa where I'm expecting the times to be tight and some epic battles.

So @SwannyUK, with it coming up to the end of the season will we be seeing another one soon?
Yep, we'll have a bit of down time for a week or so whilst I figure out what to do next.

Are we happy with another GT3 series or should we go GT4 next time? Another option would be to just have individual races so we can chop and change as we like. If we had enough drivers we could try multi class.

I would love another GT3 series but with more of the tracks that dont get used much -

Misano
Laguna Seca
Indianapolis
COTA
Zandvoort
Zolder
Suzuka

The GT3 series is amazing as is, maybe we could throw some (1 or 2) GT4/M2/Porsche Cup races in the mix. Also, the track selection/rotation and the races in the rain were superb

Race Report:

For this race I got a better setup compared to last wet race. The car felt a lot better, with better traction out of the corners and a lot more grip mid corner. Unfortunatelly, my qualy laps where awful, as I overdrove in all of them. On the last lap, I was almost 1 second faster just to spin in the last corner.

For the race, things start very well, with a clean first lap. It was really difficult for me to judge the space on my sides on the first few corners, but thankfully managed to not hit anyone.

Found my pace, and was having fighting for 3th or 4th when my computer begun to freeze at least twice a lap. Last weekend I changed some graphic settings to have more FPS but I think that activating V-Sync caused this issue. When following Magnus, when downshifting, there was a freeze, the car stuck in 3th gear, I touched the kerb and spun =/

I thought of retiring in fear of crashing in someone else, but decided to go to the end being more cautious. Some other mistakes after, I got to meet Johal and (maybe) Borowik(?) and it was fun to fight again. Some touches here and there but nothing to worry.

In the end it was fun and frustrating. Almost smashed my PC a few times, but I need it for the other races =)

For the next events, I think the GT3s are a good option as I don't like the GT4s very much. But I really what to experience a race with the new Porsche Cup car. I find it so challeging and fun to drive. Maybe a event in between the championships? If not the Porsche, some of the other cup cars.
Other idea for a "off-season" would be one only with old-generation GT3, like the Jag, Gallardo, 650s, Aston V12, etc...

Not sure if SimracingGP can handle it as a series, but why not for example a series of eight races, with four gt3, two older gt3, one gt4 and one Porsche Cup for example?
Or a gt3 series on a two week schedule and every second week a free event?

Great grid shaping up for the series final tonight guys, looking forward to it.

Spa is well known by most so no special briefing notes other than be careful on pit entry not to clip that inside wall and end up stuck in the pit entry.

Track temp for the race should be in the region of 22 degrees C.

See you on track
