Yet again another dive bomb, this time as I am attempting an overtake or putting the driver in front of me under pressure. Spun around yet again, damage yet again. The driver did obey the golden rule but 2 races ruined. No patience or race craft whatsoever.

Maybe I should have just done a LFM race instead today.
This was me, and i'm sorry for that. I saw a gap but that was not ok, sorry once again.

That was awesome fun! I was my usual slow self, starting from the back, I managed to drive through the T4/5 mishaps had a steady race from there on.

I feel I got out of the way for everyone who lapped me, except Hardie out of the second to last corner where my throttle lift nearly meant I had a Lambo badge imprint on the back of my 991, Im sorry for the near miss Hardie!

Apart from that I really enjoyed myself, got a couple of laps of fighting for position with people clearley faster than me, put in consistent (for me) laps and put in my fastest personal so far around Kyalami, a track Ive only raced this last week as I got familiar with it.

On to Suzuka! (Another track I haven't turned a wheel on yet.)

I did hit brakes a little bit too much on T4 in first lap, which made me spun with this much fuel, and made me go on the back of the grid. Race was "over" for me even tho I had no damage, as my lap times weren't the lowest compared to others and I was too far.
But it was a fun race :)
My highlight of the night was avoiding @Trox and @akephoe who just touched each other in lap 21 (see video below) as there wasn't a lot of space :roflmao:

I'm really annoyed that I have to write this.

Every race there always seems to be a collison at T1 / T2. I saw someone completely disregard the golden rule in another drivers accident.

Sorry to read this Taj.

The incident you are referring to regarding the golden rule I've seen and will be contacting both drivers for feedback. There have been a few incidents lately, it happens to all of us BUT if you have hit someone off (even if you don't think you are fully to blame) you need to slow up or pull over and let them past.

This is a casual series for drivers to have fun battling but most of all to respect each other. We have a great mixed bag of fast experienced drivers, drivers in their 2nd / 3rd seasons and people learning the ropes so it's going to happen but please please please respect the golden rule.

A **** day ended with a **** race.
I made 2 errors, one when hitting Taj from behind and the other one i kicked Will.
My fault in both cases, i'm sorry for both incidents, not my art of racing.

The quali was ok, had a good lap and pace and managed p3.
The start was not good, lost 2-3 places in turn one and than i was kicked off in turn 2 from someone behind me, i think the guy knows that he touched me but it seems he did not care.

Rejoined in last place, had a good pace despite 10sec of damage and made some progress.
Than my fault with Taj, destroyed his race and lost another 10sec while waiting for him.
Later i got close to Will, made the 2nd error, waited again and made my pitstop afterwards.
Had a solo run the last laps to the finish.

I'really pissed of by myself, because the pace was there today. But lap 1 and my errors ruined my race.

Once again, sorry to Taj and Will

Thanks to Chris for organzing.

I'll catch up with everything tomorrow as I'm shattered after that one! I will say this though - more attention needs to be paid to spatial awareness from some. The radar is there, use it. Absolutely no excuses for squeezing people or side by side contact. If the radar turns red give more room (both drivers) and live to fight another lap.

Hoping to break the ice a bit here.

Was hoping for a mix bag of conditions and had a few tire pressure options up my sleeve. Was ready to start in the wet with slicks! :roflmao: (inspired from Johann at imola!)

Happy to post my fastest lap in quali and not in practice once again, but Ricardo was on another level.

T1 with no incidents, just tucked behind Ricardo and ran away from Chris and Andrew.

Was managing the pace and had fuel for most of the race, so decided to pit very late. Before the pits I noticed Carlos came from nowhere and was on a charge!
After the pits, Chris was close and I made two huge errors that almost ended my race, but got away unscathed.

Chris was showing himself on my rear view, but I had confidence that the Porsche was better on the brakes, so just tried to focus.
I know I made a few wierd lines due to mistakes that may have caught Chris off guard, happy to hear feedback as I haven't defended much during these series!

Enjoying my progress in this series so far, let's see what the last two hold for us.

Congrats to Ricardo for the win and Chris on another podium.
On to Suzuka!

Great fun today, thanks all. I arrived late (as usual) to qualify and only managed one lap with cold tires, couldn't do better than P11. The race was fantastic from start to finish. I was lucky in the first laps, I managed to avoid some confusions, and as I had a good pace I managed to reach P3 in the first stint, with an intense fight with Chris. But then in the pits he gained me 5 seconds, I still managed to get closer after a couple of laps, but then lost some ground with the lapped cars. Happy with the p4 at the end, congratulations to the podium.

Really enjoyed the race! Great circuit to drive, had a good practice with Will during the week and made great progress on the race line and apexes. First off… apologies for clipping whoever that was on turn 5, I qualified a little higher up this week so was among a pack going into first 5 corners, was off line for five and braked late and locked up, lifted off brake and rotated car over kerb as much as possible but clipped the side of car on my right, I believe it managed to stay straight and carry on , hopefully without damage, i ended up brushing the wall and losing a couple of my hard earned quali places, lesson learned. Sorry again hope didn’t damage too much,
Got my fastest lap on the circuit this week again, happy with my quali time, pitsop and fuel strategy went according to plan. Look forward to more races here at Kyalami. Superb circuit.
Well done podiums, great pace all you pro guys once again. Thanks Chris for another great round. See you all in practice next week.

My Race Report

Practice and quali went well, started the race P7.

On the race start there was nobody on my right so I moved over into the gap, giving myself plenty of space. I ended up alongside A. Sebastian, not sure what happened on his inside but all of a sudden I was getting squeezed off track. No harm though and there was space to continue to rejoin.

Second corner on the little right kink I saw a red Aston spin across my front, I hit the brakes to avoid and managed to continue on. I didnt feel any contact, looking back at the replay it appears there could have been but I don't know how to correct that in the future if its down to internet connection when two people are that close?

A few laps in and I was battling Brooks and Schroder, a little tap on Brooks at the last turn as I got caught out on his breaking point, sent him wide. Managed to let him back past at T3 the next lap.

My pace improved lap by lap as the fuel decreased, I hoped for more mixed condition (and compromised my setup expecting them!) but they never came. Battled Schroder all the way to the end for 6th place.

The only way to compensate for the connection and the sketchy way ACC handles close proximity is to leave a margin. Granted it's tricky in the opening laps but it just needs that extra bit of care and if a car goes around your nose like that then definitely pull over and follow the golden rule please.

Just leaving that extra bit of room, braking a bit earlier when following someone and anticipating things a bit better is something I'd like everyone to be doing. I've been trying to do this for a while now and it's worked well. I think I've managed a clean slate for over a year up until my mishap at Laguna.

Yes I'm replying at 2:30am :roflmao: My 2 year old is up and thinks it's party time FFS!

All good dude, enjoyed trying to figure out a way past. I could see how much of a handful the Porsche was being so decided to see if an opportunity would come up, nearly worked but you did some Jedi moves and kept it pointing the right way :roflmao:
