Previously hosted for years with iconic sims such a RACE The WTCC Game, RACE 07, GTR Evolution, Game Stock Car, Stock Car Extreme and Automobilista 1 it's now time for Automobilista 2 to take over one of the oldest types of racing club events held on RaceDepartment: The Virtual MINI Challenge aka MINI Friday aka Beer and Understeer!

Open for both absolute beginners and more experience simracers the easy going MINI John Cooper Works is one of the coolest cars to race online with a full field of opponents.

Are you new to simracing and want to race with more experienced simracers who will show you the ropes and help you as much as they can during a casual fun online event, don't miss out and sign up today! Experienced drivers, seasoned veterans, are of course very much welcome too!

You will not get any faster or skilled by not racing online, you will only get faster with online practice and resistance with other virtual pilots surrounding you. Especially when these drivers are your friendly fellow community members who are happy to assist you with driving tips, techniques or even setups. Simply join us on Discord during the event and chat away. We don't bite, I promise :)

Please sign me up. I'll be there, I'm in. Didn't finish the mini club for 3 weeks now and I miss it.

In a few weeks time I'm not latting anymore, moving in with the ladie. Then I don't have to hop between houses for simracing. (TMI)

I'm not racing this one but hoping to join some of these in June once I am back from holiday. I have done some practice laps on this track so if anyone could give me an idea what race pace is like as I am not sure how far off I will be. (I have not driven AMS2 much, never tried the Mini and haven't properly dialled in my Fanatec DD). A PM would be appreciated. :)

Hello everybody. I'm an orphan of the weekly Wednesday races of AC (with the Miata and the Abarth 500) which I had to leave due to personal duties (will be probably back during the summer), now racing in the "F1" championship with the Formula Agile.

I'd like to try this races as I have AMS2 (though I didn't use it much) and would like to know what's the latest moment in which I can sign up, as I'm not sure I will be able to practice in advance and I don't want to be a danger to other drivers.. it would also be my first online race in AMS2 so any hint about how to connect would be super welcome!

We have thirty minutes of practice/Qualifying. The track is not too complicated. so latest for the actual event. How to connect: just click Multiplayer, refresh server list, search for one of the RaceDepartment servers. server usually only goes live when the event happens. So no practice on the actual servers in the run-up. Sometimes I do time-trials in advance, it often have not enough time.

These races are good fun, Omar! The mini is a fwd bugger:confused:, but a nice car.

I actually started the practice with a couple spins.. How could you actually spin a FWD so easily is a mystery to me, but I've been able to get to grips with it after a while.
Looking forward to the race!

Thanks Christian! I actually had the time yesterday for some practice, it's a really nice flowing track and the Mini drives really well on it. I noticed that after the 10 laps race the front wheel were pretty worn out so I checked the race duration (I'm used to 1h long races sometime) and saw that the practice is long enough anyway to get to know the track so I'm definitely interested in joining. @Bram Hengeveld could you register me?

I also was perplexed at not finding the server online for practicing but if you confirm me that it's not a fault of mine (I could actually find a couple of RD servers, Kyalami historical and another one) I'm feeling encouraged :D

You don't need to practice, we all mostly drink beer as a preparation anywa :D. Just sign up max a minute before the start of the event. It's all fine, we are easy dudes and dudettes!

Ok so no previous sign up is needed like I am used to in the AC races? I'll simply search for the server and connect using the password provided in the link? AMS2 seems a much easier world :laugh:
